Liwaliw Queen Macolletez coddiwomples in Antipolo

Here in the Philippines, rainy or monsoon season usually starts in June and lasts till October. Yet still, no rain could impede Liwaliw Queen Macolletez from coddiwompling.

Due to PAG-ASA’s weather forecast of LPA and Typhoon last 7^th day of August 2016 and for safety reasons of course, I decided to have a recess with my weekly dose of Vitamin Sea and decided to spend a day in Antipolo with my coddiwomple buddies. This time it’s purely D-I-Y; no travel agencies, no privately hired van and no organizers involved.

Since our target date fell on a Sunday, we included visiting a church to say our graces and give thanks for all the blessings. Afterwards, we will be heading to Pinto Museum that is located in Grand Heights Subdivision.

Antipolo Cathedral is also known as the National Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage

Antipolo Cathedral enshrines the Marian image of Nuestra Señora de la Paz y Buen Viaje

In Antipolo, this is considered as one of their street foods beside Cashew and Sticky Rice.

Upon arrival in Pinto Museum, you need to register in their front desk and pay their entrance fee of Php 200.00 per head. All backpacks and foods will be left in their designated locker area. Should you feel the need to eat, its either you eat your packed food outside or dine in their Pinto Café.

Travel Buddies are really hungry...

We had a real great time in Pinto Museum appreciating not just the artworks but the whole place as well. And so we did not even notice our timeframe and finished at 4:30pm. Not the ample time to head to our next destination that is Pililia Windmills in Tanay. And so we immediately thought of an alternative nearby destination and immediately rode a tricycle going to Hinulugang Taktak Falls.

Since we already knew facts that the falls is not as beautiful before, we did not expected much and just wanted to see for ourselves the once famous Hinulugang Taktak Falls.

Rules and Regulations

Swimming Pool

Entrance Fee, Cottage Rental and Swimming pool use in the area is absolutely free. You just need to register in their front desk. Cigarettes, Vape, Alcoholic Drinks are strictly prohibited in the area. I am really astounded that there are still local government bodies like here in Antipolo who utilizes some of our paid taxes to maintain and manage the rehabilitation of the falls and the place without asking the expenses back from the people. Some NGU’s teamed up with our LGU’s to save and preserve the natural beauty of this 12m high falls.

Hinulugang Taktak Falls

During the 16^th century the residence nearby complained for the boisterous sound produced by the bell during Angelus. The people demanded the local priest to remove the bell. And so the priest had to take it to the nearby river. This explains the name “Hinulugang Taktak” which means “where the bell was dropped”. In 1980 the government declared it as a National Park which after decades, its natural beauty and symmetry vanished due to abusive use and trashes made by our very own kind.

Based on the info given to us by their front desk, Hinulugang Taktak Falls can be bathe once again after 3 years of rehabilitation. That’s really great news for the next generation.

For our last stop, we took another tricycle going to Cloud 9 and take an overlooking the metro dinner.

My travel buddies have tried going up higher in Cloud 9’s 360 degrees viewing deck. You have 2 options, its either using the easy 7^th heaven way or choose the thrilling, heart-pounding experience of Cloud 9’s hanging bridge. Unlike the traditional hanging bridge which is just parallel, Cloud 9’s hanging bridge is elevated.

Since we are dining in Cloud 9, Hanging Bridge and 360 degrees viewing deck experience is free-of-charged. Guests who just wanted to have this kind of experience without the need to dine must pay Php50.00 according to their staffs and guard-on-duty.
